Two students playing table tennis in a classroom

An article from understood.org states that "Short brain breaks during work time have been shown to have real benefits. They reduce stress, anxiety, and frustration. And they can help kids focus and be more productive."  Students in Mrs. Thorpe's class are benefiting from this brain break research.  They are exploring creativity, problem solving and active play after working their brains hard to learn new material.  Some popular activities the students enjoy after lessons are crafting, card games, jigsaw puzzles, LEGOS and Ping Pong.
