Professional Development Day

Staff participating in Wednesdays, 29-SEP-2021, Professional Development training.  On this day, students stayed home so that our staff could receive some very important and specific training in the TRAILS program.  The TRAILS program is a Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum co-developed by Michigan educators and mental health experts.  The curriculum is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Theory and Mindfulness, equipping classroom teachers to deliver 20 developmentally appropriate, brief lessons that align with the 5 SEL competencies identified by the Collaborative for Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL) and endorsed by the Michigan Department of Education.  With this training, our teachers will be better able to deliver a "top notched" and researched based SEL curriculum to our students, helping them to more effectively navigate through the rigors of Middle/High School.
