Directions: You are to choose a Native American population from the groups shown on pages 204 and 208. For this activity, you may work in a group of up to 4 people. You are to find a creation myth from these people. From this myth, you are to create a video, write a play, illustrate the myth, or create your own.

 

For the video/play: You must have a script for your movie. Your myth must be at least 3 minutes in length. You may tape the myth or act it out in the front of the class.  You may include an extra section at the end if you wish about their living conditions or traditions.

 

For your Illustration: You should try to create a storybook or a poster board illustrating your myth. You can simplify/summarize your myth so that your pictures tell most of the story.

 

For your own myth: Your myth must be based on the creation myth of another culture. You should include some aspects of your myth, but the rest of it is up to your discretion.
