Parents, remember that you are an essential part of helping your kids have a great start. Take every opportunity to talk to your student about the many things they want to accomplish this year. Encourage them, support them, offer your best advice and help them get off to a solid beginning.
There are a few very important, basic practices that you can help your student with. Coming to school every day is key. To be there for every class, rested and ready to learn, is very important. Parents have a lot to say about great attendance. Help your child develop a safe, healthy life schedule. Eating, sleeping, and playing well make the sometimes difficult tasks surrounding academic challenge easier to plan for. Parents that help their kids manage their time well do a great service for their students.
Review the school handbook with your student. Our handbook reminds you and your child of the many responsibilities they have to do their part in making Gobles MS/HS a safe place to get the best education they can earn. The handbook is filled with the reminders we offer to eliminate many problems that get in the way of learning. Parent cooperation with our rules and regulations go a long, long way to making our school a hassle free place to learn.
The spirit of Gobles is alive and well. I invite everyone to come to the many activities planned this year. The athletic contests are loud, positive expressions of the spirit that drives our school community toward greatness. Our many musical presentations let our very gifted musicians exhibit their talents while the spirit of Gobles entertains all of us. Board meetings, school improvements meetings, parent/teacher conferences, award presentations, and other organized gatherings, allow us to take part of the spirit of Gobles and foster the open communication needed help our students reach their goals.
If we all dedicate ourselves to the task at hand, the successful education of every Gobles student, this year will indeed be one of the best we have ever experienced. I look forward to every day and the chance to help your student have the best possible experience of the spirit of Gobles available.
