This is another in the It's All Good series the author writes for the Van Buren County Advertiser. Due to space limitations it didn't run in the Thanksgiving issue, but given the topic, the author has decided to post it here. Kind of like movies released directly to DVD! Happy Thanksgiving!

Gun Season is an important annual event in the woods and fields around Gobles, and the author remembers his father's relationship with guns, and how it contrasts with the important lessons hunters know and pass onto their children.

Sure, economic times are tough around town, across Michigan and the USA, but there's reason for optimism. Take a look at Bloomingdale and Gobles and the amazing construction and renovation projects-- there's a hopeful message!

This message is for the 75% of the parents of MS/HS students who don't attend conferences each year. It really does help with the achievement of the children that we both (you at home and we at school) hope will succeed. We need to do more than hope: we need to work together, starting with conferences.
