High School Marching/Concert Band

The Gobles Tiger Marching Band completed their competitive season on October 22th.  This season, they performed in marching competitions in Rockford, Otsego, Gull Lake, and Jenison.  They also performed in Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association (MSBOA) District Festival in Paw Paw.  This year the Marching Tigers won first place and took home caption awards in Music, Marching, Percussion and Color Guard at the Rockford and the Gull Lake Marching Invitational.  They took first place with caption awards in Marching, Color Guard and Percussion at the Otsego Creative Arts Invitational.  They received second place with caption awards in Marching and Color Guard at the Jenison Invitational.  The band earned a Division I rating at MSBOA

Thank you to all of the instructors who have helped us this season!  Mandana Nordbrock, Gobles Color Guard Instructor, did a wonderful job with visual design and teaching our guard girls!   Nate Taylor, John Ingles and Tim Smith helped with percussion, and Nick Smith, Katie Giesbrect, Danielle Zaczek, and Derrick Zaczek helped with winds and marching!

Thank you to all of our family members and friends who tailored uniforms, drove students to rehearsals, brought snacks and water to our competitions, loaded, unloaded and hauled our equipment, cheered for us and supported us though the season!  You make such a positive difference!

The High School Concert Band is currently working on Christmas Legends by Gilroy, Chorale and Shaker Dance II by Zdechlik, and A Family Christmas by Swearingen for the Winter Concert.

Middle School Band

The Middle School Band is currently working on music for the Winter Concert.  They will be performing White Christmas by Irving Berlin, Dakota Hymn arr. by Conley, and First Christmas Album by Balent.  It is so exciting to hear them continue to grow musically every day!

6th Grade Beginning Band

The 6th Grade Beginning Band is sounding better every day!  We continue to learn new notes and rhythms while playing out of Essential Elements 2000, Book 1.  Students are improving so quickly!  We are also preparing for the Winter Concert and will play our favorite music from our books.
